How does a summer full of swimming, games, learning, and friends sound?  Well, it sounds like Summer Day Camp at Neighborhood House!  Youth ages 6-12 are signing up fast to spend the summer with cool counselors in fun places.  Our summer day camp program is bigger than ever this year, so there are still spots remaining! Be sure to check out our pictures and videos from last summer!

Our theme this summer is "Come Grow With Us" as we learn about our natural world and the environment.   

Who:  You (or your children ages 6-12)

What:  Swimming, hiking, reading, games, art, science, nature and good times.   

When:  June 29 - August 28

Where:  Neighborhood House and all around town

Childcare subsidy programs are welcome and a limited number of scholarships are available.  

A basketball camp for girls will be held at NH featuring Bernell Hooker of IOU Sports and Coach Marquis Hines, the 2007-2008 State Champions Coach and Coach of the Year!  Each girl will receive a camp t-shirt and a certificate of completion on the final day of camp!  

The camp takes place on 5 Saturdays throughout the summer from 9am to 1pm: 

July 11 & 18 & 25

August  1 & 8

To sign up or for more information, call Lyn Hildenbrand at (414) 933-6161 ext. 171.  There is NO COST for this camp for Neighborhood House participants!  We invite non-Neighborhood House participants to sign up for the camp as well, for a one time fee of $20.

On June 8, 2009, Neighborhood House of Milwaukee held its 5th Annual Neighborhood House Open at Tripoli Country Club, one of Wisconsin’s premier golf courses.  The weather, for the most part, cooperated as hundreds of golfers and philanthropists turned out to support Neighborhood House and enjoy a great day of golf.  Channel 12’s Mark Baden and Dan Needles were the gracious hosts again this year for the event, and spent time with the golfers and attendees throughout the day.  This year's 5th Annual Neighborhood House Golf Open raised tens of thousands of dollars in support of Neighborhood House Programs.  Neighborhood House extends a sincere thanks to all who helped make this year's event a success!

Reminder: 

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Chicago Cubs Suite Package: through August 15, 2009, Neighborhood House is selling raffle tickets to win 14 tickets and 6 parking passes (Brewers Lot 2) to the Fox Sports Net Luxury Box (Suite 55) for the 7:05PM 9/23/09 Brewers vs. Cubs game. Raffle tickets are priced at $25 for one ticket, $100 for 5 tickets and $200 for 10 tickets. Raffle tickets are available for purchase from Neighborhood House through August 14, 2009. Please contact Neighborhood House's Development Department at (414) 933-6161 for information about purchasing raffle tickets to win this once in a lifetime experience!  The runner-up in the raffle will receive a voucher for two excellent Club Level Seats to a select 2009 Monday through Thursday home game at Miller Park, of their choice.

The 19th Annual Ray Richardson Dinner & Auction was held on November 11, 2008 at the Midwest Airlines Center.  The event was exceptional as always, with outstanding auction items in our voice auction and silent auction, delicious food, and exquisite company.  Neighborhood House would like to thank this year's Event Chair, Ulice Payne; our gracious master of ceremonies, Channel 12's Mark Baden; and our live auctioneer extraordinaire, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett.

The Neighborhood House family would like to sincerely thank all the people and organizations that worked in concert to make this year's event a success.  With well over 500 people in attendance, the 19th Annual Ray Richardson Dinner & Auction raised more than $100,000 for Neighborhood House’s programs and services. 

Neighborhood House would also like to thank the numerous sponsors and guests who attended last year's 19th Annual Ray Richardson Dinner & Auction.  We also thank the numerous generous donors to our auction and event.  We couldn't have done it without all your generous support last year!  We look forward to seeing you all at this year's 20th Annual Ray Richardson Awards Dinner & Auction! 

Few things are as rewarding as being a mentor to a young person. Neighborhood House has great programs helping youth after school doing homework and developing study skills. Our dedicated group of volunteers leads the way in these programs, but we have more students than mentors.

That's where you come in! We're looking for a adults interested in spending 2 nights per week working with students at Neighborhood House.
