Citywide Nutrition & Physical Activity Project PDF Print E-mail

Neighborhood House hosts the Citywide Nutrition & Physical Activity Project, a collaboration between eight other community centers to educate urban families about nutrition and healthy lifestyles. The project includes an education specialist, registered dietician and parent advocates and was started two years ago when a pilot survey by the Medical College of Wisconsin and Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin discovered 40% of respondents were overweight and 23% obese. The program was then expanded to include collaborations with Marquette, UWM and Mount Mary College.
