Kids’ Club offers programming for area youth ages 7-12 during after school, MPS off days and Summer Day Camp. Programming is planned around our dedication to literacy enrichment, physical health, and life skills. We emphasize creative thinking, problem solving, teamwork, and community involvement.

Hours:

  • Before school care begins at 6:30 am until 8:30 am.
  • After school programming is offered from 2:30 pm to 6:00 pm.
  • Summer Day Camp is 10 weeks starting 1 week after MPS dismisses for the year.
  • During scheduled MPS off days, we are open from 6:30 am to 6:00 pm.

Programs:

Gym: Gym activities are planned in partnership with our health and nutrition department. We begin daily gym activities with a brief warm up of cardio and stretching. Each month we focus on learning skills in different sports. We teach soccer, balance, floor hockey, football, and baseball. Once a month participants are tested for improvement in stretching, agility, sit ups, push up and running based off the Presidential Fitness Testing standards.

Art: We have a fully stocked art room that allows participants to show their creative side using paints, fabric, clay, beads and countless other mediums. Participants enjoy cultural art lessons from artists who are directly linked to the community.

Cooking: Our teaching kitchen helps participants understand the ease of healthy cooking using fresh ingredients and starting from scratch. Participants learn many different kitchen techniques and how to use equipment safely. Cooking projects also bring real world applications to learning fractions.
